Arunachal Pradesh generally known as "Land of the Dawn-Lit Mountains". This state is rising from the tropically lush valleys of the Brahmaputra River, and surrounded by the serried ridges and the peaks of the Eastern Himalayas. Arunachal Pradesh is the first land to be kissed by the rays of the morning sun, so that it has the name of  “The Land of Rising Sun”. It is the remotest outpost of the North Eastern states, which is covered by mysterious, unspoiled loveliness entices of verdant valleys, misty mountain peaks, swift rivers and the finest sanctuary for some of India's most endangered flora and fauna. Moreover, Arunachal Pradesh shares borderlines with China (Tibet) in the north, Myanmar (Burma) in the east, Bhutan in the west and the states of Nagaland and Assam in the south. This fertile lands are watered by 5 major rivers, primary amongst them being the River of Siang, the mighty Brahmaputra of Assam. Arunachal Pradesh is a beautiful remote state with its haunting beauty and magical charm, lures the visitor to imbibe of its natural beauty, tribal culture, craft traditions and splendid wildlife.

Arunachal is one of the most sparesely populated states of India. It borders China, Bhutan and Myanmar.This beautiful state is a home to a complex mix of communities. The people of Arunachal Pradesh are friendly, colourful and simple. Its rich flora ranges from the Alpine to the subtropical, from rhododendrons to orchids. Its verdant forests, turbulent streams, lofty mountains and snow clad peaks make Arunachal Pradesh tourism a unique place.

ARUNACHAL PRADESH is situated in the north eastern part of India that is nearly 84,000 sq. km in area and has a long international border with Bhutan to the west (160 km), China to the north and north-east (1,080 km) and Burma to the east (1,440 km).  Arunachal Pradesh tourism area stretches from snow-capped mountains in the north to the plains of Brahmaputra valley in the south. Arunachal is the largest state area-wise in the north-east region, even larger than Assam which is the most populous.

Weather
Areas of Arunachal Pradesh are very high elevation in the Upper Himalayas close to the Tibetan border enjoy an alpine or Tundra climate. Below the Upper Himalayas are the Middle Himalayas, where people experience a temperate climate. Areas at the sub-Himalayan and sea-level elevation generally experience humid, sub-tropical climate with hot summers and mild winters.
Annually, Arunachal Pradesh receives heavy rainfall of 80 to 160 inches (2,000 to 4,100 mm), most of it between May and September. The mountain slopes and hills of this state are covered with alpine, temperate, and subtropical forests of dwarf rhododendron, oak, pine, maple, fir, and juniper; sal (Shorea) and teak are the main economically valuable species.

Lilabari Airport of Assam is the nearest airport for the Arunachal Pradesh State.

Rail junction
Rail Junction of Arunachal pradesh is well connected with rest of India. The closest railway station is Harmuty located at a distance of 33 km from Itanagar.

Transport
A good connectivity by bus is provided by Arunachal State Transport and Private transport operators. Direct bus facility from Guwahati (381km), Shillong (481km), Tezpur (216km), Dibrugarh (375km), Tinisukia (415 km), Jorhat (245km), Nagaon (275km), Namsai (495km) connects to Itanagar.
